Weston
|
| Located north of Westport and just 45 miles from New York City, Weston is a rural community with wooded ridges and valleys. Settled in 1787, Weston offers single family two acre zoning, with no apartments, condominiums or corporate offices. There is a small retail area offering a grocery store, drycleaners, post office and other basic amenities. Recent years have seen considerable amounts of new construction. The community is conservationaly oriented with 25 % of its land dedicated to open space and surrounded by the Aspetuck Land Trust. The education system consists of one elementary, one middle and one high school for its students. Youth activities are offered year around by the Weston Recreation Commission. There are additional availabilities to the arts, music and water sport for the community. Rail transportation is available in Westport or Norwalk via Metro North Railway system. With a population of approximately 10,000, the town encompasses 21 square miles.
